Physiotherapy

We use a variety of treatment techniques & exercises to address your problems.
Through these we aim to alleviate pain, improve your range of movement, & restore muscle strength so YOU can get back to living YOUR life confidently and pain-free!

WHY PHYSIOTHERAPY?

The physiotherapy profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, often enabling people to stay in work while helping them to remain independent for as long as possible.

We have a strong team of well-qualified physiotherapists at Anne Davidson Fitness, with a broad range of knowledge and experience in helping with health and fitness challenges of all kinds. We also work with hospitals and GPs, accepting referrals for the treatment of many conditions. Whether you are referred to us by other health professionals or have found us yourself, we will always begin with a full health assessment and can offer a range of motion exercises. Depending on the reasons you are coming to us, we will know what to check and will quickly establish the best way forward.

Here at Anne Davidson Fitness…

We focus on gently restoring your health, reducing pain and helping you to enjoy the process of recovery. Our techniques can bring many benefits including:

  • Increased strength, flexibility, co-ordination and balance
  • Improved motor skills and dexterity
  • Posture and stability (maintenance and improvements)
  • Raised confidence in your abilities
  • Improved cardiovascular health and stamina
  • Greater mobility
  • Reduced pain

WHAT TO EXPECT

If you have experienced serious injury, trauma or surgery, this can affect you in more ways than simply physical pain and limitations. Your self-confidence can be reduced, especially when your whole lifestyle might have had to change as a result of your experience.

Our physiotherapists are experienced in understanding these difficulties, and have a caring approach with all clients. This will help you regain confidence in life, and will also help you to establish new ways of thinking about and approaching your recovery.

With corrective physiotherapy, you are given a clear understanding of your situation and what you should be doing. It’s important to have an individualised and personal service, as you will have specific needs, limitations and capabilities. This might also include other dietary and lifestyle considerations, as well as suitable exercise patterns.

Your well-qualified and experienced physiotherapist here at Anne Davidson Fitness will work with you to develop an exercise plan designed specifically for you which will meet your current needs and enable your recovery to progress within a realistic timescale. You will be given all the support and encouragement you need to aid in your recovery.

What should you bring to a session?

Firstly, to get off to a flying start, bring a positive attitude! You should also bring the following items to your physiotherapy sessions:

  • Suitable loose clothing, e.g., shorts, loose top
  • Relevant medical history
  • Medication details
  • And don’t forget your glasses if you need them to read forms!
